Well, it would seem, this is the end of this challenge from THIS IS NOT A BOOK (meaning no more photographs). I have actually enjoyed this photo thing, it's been fun. 

This was taken today - this is Alice. I just have her a bath in an attempt to completely get rid of her and Bear's flea problem. She did not like it. In fact, I am positive she is planning my death and I type. 

This is not a book shall continue tomorrow, however, there will be a new challenge! Enjoy! :)

Sunday 29th December 2013: Day 42 of THIS IS NOT A BOOK

Today was my best friend's 18th birthday :) To celebrate, we simply had a sleepover, complete with junk food, a little bit of alcohol, and a Pretty Little Liars marathon :)

I also posted this delightful collage of some of our favourite memories from that past four years of being best friends with a sentimental message :) She is an amazing person, and I am so thankful to have known her at all, let alone as well as I do.

Saturday 28th December 2013: Day 41 of THIS IS NOT A BOOK!

Today I decided to give myself a project to do (: I chose making shelves. I have wanted to make some more of my music shelves for a while and today I finally made dad take me into town to get the things I needed. I made four, and I love them! 

This is the finished product. It was a time consuming task, but rather enjoyable. My room is really coming together! I'm afraid I'll never leave :p

Friday 27th December 2013: Day 40 of THIS IS NOT A BOOK

Today I went to see the hobbit - an amazing movie with outstanding music!! I read outside because it was such a beautiful sunny day and my brother bought me a surprise gift of City of Bones on DVD! :) 

Oh yeah!! :D exciting! Love this movie!

Thursday 26th December 2013: Day 39 of THIS IS NOT A BOOK

Today is Boxing Day! And I would have love to have spent it roaming around the town spending money I don't have on things I "can't live without", however, my lack of funds prevented this without question. Instead, I spent the day walking my Bear, reading, searching the web and looking up other books I would like to eventually read (like I haven't got enough). The day was quite warm, and as you can see, the walk thoroughly wiped out poor li'l Bear! 

She is so cute, and sometimes sleeps like a human :) She definitely enjoyed this nap. Today I also spent my iTunes card that I received for Christmas with ease! I bought the soundtrack to Safe Haven, which I cannot stop listening to. John Mayer's new album (clean version), some random songs, and a movie. I got Anchors Aweigh, which I have been looking for forever due to my obsession with both Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra :) I really enjoyed it. One of my new favourites. And may I just say, dayum! Frank was a smokin' young man! And Gene Kelly, *sigh*, that is all.

Thursday 25th December 2013: Day 38 of THIS IS NOT A BOOK.

Merry Christmas! While enjoying family time and presents, I do hope you remember the true meaning of Christmas :) 

I just thought, for a bit of fun, I'd show you what I received for Christmas, I was so spoilt this year and love everything I got! 

I also of course received my amazing iPhone as my main present :) however I used that to take the photograph haha :)
I seem to have had a green year this year! I fell in love with this amazing green bag you see. It's small and perfect. I wanted a bag as a whole symbolic thing of growing up, finishing school and such ;P You will also see my 2014 spotty diary from Typo. I adore this thing. So cute! I am hoping I will be busy enough to use it throughout next year! I also got a bath set, coconut and lime for something different, and I really like it! I used it yesterday morning :) I also got season 4 of The Vampire Diaries. Yay! And Safe Haven, which is one of my most favouritest movies! Also the Stardust book from Josh and my Dirty Dancing calendar from Father - he gets me a calendar every year themed with something I absolutely love. This year was The Hunger Games :) I also forgot to put them in the photo, but I received the books Divergent and Allegiant. The second one, Insurgent wasn't there so I will have to get that another time. Absolutely spoiled as you can see! Incredible :) I am sure everyone has loved getting this bonus gifts on Christmas!
Of course our most powerful and sentimental gift is Jesus being born and dying for us, and his birth is of course what Christmas represents. But, it is still fun to receive some randoms like this!  

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!!!!

Wednesday 24th December 2013: Day 37 of THIS IS NOT A BOOK

Merry Christmas Eve!! 

We have a tradition in the household, in which my brother, josh, and I exchange our gifts on Christmas Eve- I'm not complaining! I am most excited about the book my brother so kindly bought. It's a limited edition hardcover copy of stardust. Signed, with a case and everything! Amazing!! 

See! Signed!! :D so excited to begin reading this one. I have seen the movie, but have yet to read the book. And I think it'll be a favourite! Bring it on :)

A pretty chill day today :) 

Went for a walk, watched some shows and YouTube, did some reading, ate some chocolate.

Sunday 21st December 2013: Day 35 of THIS IS NOT A BOOK

Well, today was the Christmas party down in Melbourne with dad's side of the family. I was able to drive down there which was a good experience and I was happy with my performance. 

The party itself was fun, however I got a horrible headache by the end and wanted to leave. 

Looks like it will be an early night for me! Definitely going to bed and finishing the secret garden. 

I also took this on the way home from our mini road trip. This isn't endited at all! The colours are absolutely astounding! One of the most beautiful sunsets ever!

Saturday 20th December 2013: Day 34 of THIS IS NOT A BOOK

Today was a relatively boring day. However tonight was one of immense activity. Me and some of my favourite people went out for dinner and to a movie. We went to the forge, a pizza place - which was amazing! And then we went to see American hustle - not so amazing. The night got super fun when we decided to take some photo booth pictures - something I have always wanted to do!

Thursday 19th December 2013: Day 33 of THIS IS NOT A BOOK

Okay, so I am aware that I've been slack with these posts. However, there has just been nothing happening. I've been home all day doing literally nothing. Today I played the sims3 for an unhealthy amount of time and finished the day off reading my bible. It was about 38 degrees Celsius today - insane! 30 degrees inside. Too hot to do anything!

Monday 16th December 2013: Day 31 of THIS IS NOT A BOOK

Today I had my first driving lesson which went surprisingly well considering the lack of experience and accident yesterday. I was slightly worried it would've had an underlying psychological influence over me and I'd poop my pants when I came to a roundabout. 

Tonight is pretty chill. We watched Home Alone and now I am in bed early to read some. I shall read some City of Fallen Angels and then my Bible - I feel like I haven't been doing that enough and I've lost some flare.

Sunday 15th December 2013: Day 30 of THIS IS NOT A BOOK

Today was super eventful, and yet not at the same time. I went for a drive this morning with father to get some hours and ended up in a car accident. A truck had leaked some liquids onto the road moments before I came through the roundabout and I spun out of control into a ditch. Another may have easily avoided the disaster, but I have not nearly enough experience to know what to do in such a crisis. The car was a bit beat up and I only have a couple bruises, thank God (literally) that I was driving because I was only going 20km, if father was driving, he would have been going much faster and the damage may have been much worse! 

I also went to the Ballarat Carols tonight which was good. The following photograph is me once I got home and took my hair out of my bun. It went *bboofffpphh* and a mass of voluminous curls went every which way!

Friday 13th if December 2013: Day 28 of THIS IS NOT A BOOK

Today ended up being a really good day. I decided it wasn't me to dwell on the negatives that were going on and I wanted to change my day around. SO! I put up the Christmas tree, decorated it and put the gifts underneath. 

I rather enjoyed it. I then watched a movie with the mother bear, the hunger games, and really just had a pretty chill day all up. 

This is my beautiful Christmas tree. Out odd little rustic metal tree with bits and bobs hanging off it awkwardly - this is how we know this is our perfect tree. It's a perfect representation! The lights are beautiful and constantly changing, the gifts around it prove how spoilt we are! 

I am getting so excited :)

Thursday 12 December: Day 27 of THIS IS NOT A BOOK

I have missed the last couple days due to nothing happening. I didn't take any photos purely for that reason - there was nothing to capture. 

Today was an exciting day. Mother and I went Christmas shopping! I find it so much fun to buy things for other people, I really enjoy it! I have now successfully bought gifts for the brother, father and mother :) 

This Christmas is still exciting despite the fact that I know everything I am getting. I have been absolutely spoilt this year, as I am every year. It's amazing. I am so blessed to be able to have and do these things. 

I do hope that during all the hustle of everybody cramming stuff into their trolleys that they do remember the real meaning and reason for Christmas, it's in the name - Christ. I hope this remains the focus during everyone's special family time and among the gifts that the meaning doesn't get covered by wrapping paper!

Monday 9th December 2013: Day 24 of THIS IS NOT A BOOK

Well, it seems I have skipped yesterday :S truth is, nothing really happened and I felt a photo of me going to priceline or taking yet another walk or watching Angel or driving around wouldn't be the most interesting thing to document. 

Today is yet another lazy day. Just watching some shows, reading, writing a bit - I started a short story yesterday :) so I'll see where that goes! 

Today, it's a typical ballarat summer day- rain, thunder. So this means! Warn blankets, mint hot chocolate, the vampire diaries (among other shows), reading my books and just chilling! I do love these days :) 

Also - creepy reflection in the laptop screen! Haha :P Just ignore my unmakeuped, pj'd and messy haired self!

Saturday 7th December 2013: Day 22 of THIS IS NOT A BOOK!

Today was an absolutely amazing day. Such beautiful weather. Just one of those days where one easily finds themselves incandescently happy with the simple beauty one finds around them. The sun is shining, the warmth is being soaked in as I read. I did some driving, and I am very excited about going to the movies tonight with two of my best friends and my brother to see Catchinh Fire - the second of the Hunger Games trilogy. Which I am SO excited for. You have no idea. 

It truly has been such a great day!

Friday 6th December 2013: Day 21 of THIS IS NOT A BOOK

Today was not the most eventful day. We roamed about the town and ran some errands including my brother getting his P's, excitement! I also came to the conclusion that I need a job ASAP, otherwise I will definitely go insane. I did go for a walk with Bear again today, which was rather lovely :) 

This is a section of the path I must walk trough during my circuit. It's one of my favourite little bits, it's only about 20 meters or so, but my goodness is it lovely! It's absolutely beautiful. I thank God for scenes such as this - it's magical. As though it is a place in which fairies live or the entrance to wonderland. :)

Thursday 5th December 2013: Day 20 of THIS IS NOT A BOOK.

Today was absolutely freezing - a disappointment for it being summer and all. It was also mothers birthday. We didn't really have anything special planned, we just stayed in and watched movies :) I wasn't complaining. 

Hot water bottle, snugly blankets, movies, hot drinks and cat snuggles - it must be summer! 

Of course it is almost Christmas, I gotta use my favourite and ridiculously adorable Christmas mug. A Dalmatian wearing a Santa hat? Yes!

Wednesday 4th December 2013: Day 19 of THIS IS NOT A BOOK.

This is what we call rush hour in my little town :) I absolutely love it out here in the country. I love walking and being in nature like this. I can't imagine living in a city, having no air, everyone looking angry in business suits and no trees or wildlife. I much prefer this amazing space in which I pass several kangaroos and have almost complete solitude to listen to my music and walk with the puppy!

This is the adorable Bear and I enjoying a lovely walk. I have been walking this 6km track for the last few days. She's obviously enjoyin' it :) It's super nice when the weather cools down and it's not quite dark yet - if one is not prone to be eaten alive by mosqueetos. I love just walking alongside this noodle and listening to my tunes!

Last night was my formal - a pretty late night for us all ;P
We all had such an amazing time, it was a great send off for us all finishing our education thus far. The girls all looked stunning, the guys handsome, there were laughs, music and hilarious dancing. A few came back to my place for a little after-party type deal, which lasted till around 2am. Ridiculous. It was fun. Good times had by all.

This photo features two of my best friends, Deanna and Zac. This was taken at the art show, when we decided to go for a walk around the wilderness close by. We found a beautiful lake and bridge and decided it was a good photo opportunity, and voila!

I used some good ol' yellow nail polish to colour this in! 'Yellow Mellow', I believed was one of the strangest things I could have used to colour in this weird shape - and I don't think that smell will ever fade. Like ever.

Sunday 24th November 2013 - Day Ten of THIS IS NOT A BOOK

Document some kind of movement here.

For this page, I grabbed a pen, put my music on and let my hand do whatever it wanted to. So I guess you could say I was documenting the movement of the music - that sounds a bit deep and philosophical. But, I am a very musical person. I have always enjoyed it, listening to it, playing it, dancing to it, exercising to it, creating art with it inspiring me. So I also thought this may be a good representation of who I am at the same time.
It basically turned out as a page of scribbles in purple ink, but you can see the type of music. There are spikes when the beat was powerful, the lines become more relaxed as the sway music of Michael Buble' and Frank Sinatra rings in my ears. The lines seem to have a sort of playful wonder about them as Louis Prima begins to sing with his fun and hilarious music and lyrics.
I enjoyed this one. It gave me another excuse to just sit and listen for a while. Sometimes we all need that.

Monday 18th November: Day Five of THIS IS NOT A BOOK!

1. Get a writing utensil (pen, pencil, etc.)

3. Draw a straight line in any direction; stop before you get to the edge of the page
4. Draw a curvy line in the opposite direction
5. Add a square. Colour it in.

My weapon of choice was a fine-liner - probably not the best option I discovered afterward.
I made it a goal to make sure I did not read the next instruction until I had finished the one before - so it probably didn't turn out as pretty as it could have :P

(And yes, it is being written up later due to a friend's bonfire I went to last night - I didn't get a chance do it all before I left and it was too late when I got home).

For this day I chose to do option 1. I already owned some nice colourful ink from doing art at school during year 12, and working a lot with ink!
I didn't have a straw unfortunately, but I still blew on the ink to make it go every which way :)
I had blue, green, red and pink to work with :)

I think it's only fair to warn you that I do NOT practice in the ancient art, of origami... - so I chose the cliche of creating a wee box out of the paper.
I chose to exhibit it on my chest of drawers by the window. It's rather adorable. And goes with my blue room quite nicely!

15th November, 2013. Day Two of the THIS IS NOT A BOOK challenge!

Alternative: While walking, place THIS IS NOT A BOOK, between your legs. See who can walk the farthest.

We decided on the former! Brenna, mother and I were losing consciousness and our boredom was inching to chronic. So, we opened to this page of THIS IS NOT A BOOK, hoping it would occupy us for some time.
Brenna: forearm - 16 seconds. (She got distracted while reading a text)
Mother: shoulder - 2 seconds.
Me: foot - 2 minutes (and my leg was beginning to hurt)

Obviously, this challenge failed to amuse us for more than just a couple of minutes.. However, it was still funny ;P

It is the 14th of November 2013 - This marks the end of the chapter of year 12 and the beginning of a new chapter in my life!

Tomorrow is the day my 'THIS IS NOT A BOOK' journey of challenge, hilarity and fun begins. I gotta say, I am actually really looking forward to it. I have never done something like this before, and it is going to be a difficult task to accomplish I am sure :) Make sure you keep checking in to see how this adventure is going! I am sure it will be an entertaining endeavor ;P

Let the Adventure Begin!!

Well hey there fellow humans :) Just thought I would give you a little introduction into what this blog shall be about!
You see, I am a year 12 student, who will be completely finished my high schooling career this Thursday (14th of November 2013). I contemplated what one could possibly do with so much new free time on their hands, I mean that 6 hours a day, 5 days a week I no longer have to force myself to go to the establishment they call education!
With my soon new found freedom, I thought it would be a great idea to blog, and document my adventures past this point. I have decided to begin a journey with a gift - 'THIS IS NOT A BOOK' by Keri Smith, which was given to me this year for my 18th birthday. So the day I finish school, will be the day I begin this endeavor, or challenge if you will, to complete this book! It's 221 pages are full of incredible challenges and ideas to keep me occupied for 221 days :) I will be opening to a random page every single day and proceeding to complete whatever the page tells me to.
I thought this would be a fun and hilarious journey to embark on as I finish this chapter in my life :) I will also be documenting this adventure on instagram :) So follow me at little_miss_mikki to get some insight!
